In March of 1971, James Taylor appeared on the cover of Time magazine, hailed as the founder of the “singer/songwriter” trend in popular music. This Grammy-winner and inductee into both the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame continues to be a fan favorite today; his Greatest Hits album has sold over 10 million copies, earning him the RIAA's elusive Diamond Award.
