Pianist Max Levinson was born in the Netherlands and raised in L.A.  The Boston Globe remarks on his technique, "The questioning, conviction, and feeling in his playing invariably remind us of the deep reason why music is important to us - why we listen to it, why we care so much about it."

This disk features Levinson's remarkable performances of two pieces by Robert Schumann:

Kreisleriana, Op. 16, written in four days of April, 1838; and Symphonic Etudes, Op. 13, composed between 1834 and 1837.
