Character Pianos for MONTAGE features very unique sounding Yamaha Pianos.
A “Nashville C3”, “U1 Upright”, and “Felt Piano.”
Nashville C3: A small but rich grand piano engineered in conjunction with our Sound Design and Artist Relations teams, the Nashville C3 was recorded in our Yamaha Entertainment Group Studios and processed with real analog tape for vintage sound.
U1 Upright: One of the most popular pianos in the world, the U1 Upright features a vintage, nostalgic character. This makes it perfect for music needing a solid upright piano vibe and sound.
Felt Piano: This expressive and intimate piano is a U1 Upright with felt placed between the hammers and strings (This U1 is a different instrument than the character rich “U1 Upright”). The Felt Piano was recorded in the Yamaha speaker test lab using a proprietary sampling robot, allowing the reproduction of ultra-precise note velocities and smooth dynamic layers.
